CSUMB plans work in East Campus this summer

CSUMB Facilities Management announced the following maintenance and construction projects planned for East Campus from June through September.

June 16 to 26 [tentative]: PG&E Vegetation Clearing in East Campus Open Space - Tree and shrub trimming and mowing in the oak woodland south of Inter-Garrison Road and east of Eighth Avenue. No impact is expected to roadways and nearby residences.

Late June to Aug. 15: CSUMB Wildfire Risk Reduction Fuel Management - Landscape crews will clear tall grass and shrubs and trim trees along Inter-Garrison Road from Seventh Avenue to Schoonover Road, along roadways throughout the East Campus Housing area, and behind each East Campus Housing unit — not including fenced private yards — to create CAL FIRE defensible space. Expect noise and dust.

July: PG&E Conduit Boring, Trenton Court - PG&E will work behind Trenton Court near Imjin Parkway to install electrical lines. Expect noise and vibration followed by one to two days of full daytime power outages in early July. Additional notifications to come with specific dates for the outages.

July: PG&E Electrical Line Installation, Manassas Drive - PG&E will dig minimally around transformers from Wilderness Court to Spotsylvania Court. No trenching or roadway closures are anticipated. Expect one to two days of power outages. Additional notifications to come with specific dates for the outages.

July 10: City of Marina Imjin Parkway Widening Project - Tentative start date for a multi-year project to widen Imjin Parkway and add roundabouts, including at Abrams Drive. Expect project notification roadway signage. Later project phases may involve detours or increased traffic through East Campus.

Mid-July to September: County of Monterey Repaving Inter-Garrison Road - The County of Monterey plans roadwork along Inter-Garrison Road between Abrams Drive and Sherman Boulevard in the East Garrison community. Alternating one-way traffic will be open at all times, and two-way traffic will be open each evening. 

Mid-July 2023 to Summer 2024: PG&E Gas Line Distribution System Replacement - First phase of trenching each cul-de-sac in Schoonover Park I to replace gas distribution lines. Each court will be notified with the specific dates of work.
