Resource Sharing

Connecting you to books, articles and media from libraries across the CSU system and beyond.

Expand Your Search

Need something that isn’t on our shelves? Through CSU+ and Interlibrary Loan, you can search beyond Cal State Monterey Bay and borrow materials from libraries across the CSU system, the Monterey Bay region and around the world. Whether you’re looking for books, articles or media, resource sharing makes it easy to access the materials you need to support your research, teaching and learning — often in just a few days.

Library Resource Sharing Services

Search and borrow from all 23 CSU libraries using OneSearch.

If CSUMB doesn’t own an item — or if it’s currently unavailable — you can request it through CSU+. Most books arrive in just a few days. Articles and book chapters are delivered as downloadable PDFs.

How to Request via CSU+

  1. Go to OneSearch
  2. Use the dropdown menu to select “Books & Media (All CSU)”
  3. Find the item and click “Request via CSU+”
  4. Log in to your Library Account to track your request or access digital files

Pickup Location for Physical Items

Requested books are delivered to self-service lockers just outside the library:

What You Can Request

  • Books
  • Journal articles
  • Book chapters (PDF only)

Due to copyright restrictions, full digital copies of books cannot be provided. You may request a single chapter — be sure to include the title or chapter number in your request.

Note: Textbooks and CSUMB course reserve materials are not eligible for borrowing through resource sharing.

  • Articles and book chapters will be delivered to your Library Account as PDFs
    • Files can be downloaded up to 90 times
    • Download links expire after 30 days — save your file to your device or cloud storage

Loan Periods, Fees and Responsibility

  • Loan periods vary by item and lending library
  • Lending libraries charge for lost or unreturned items
