What You Can Request
- Books
- Journal articles
- Book chapters (PDF only)
Due to copyright restrictions, full digital copies of books cannot be provided. You may request a single chapter — be sure to include the title or chapter number in your request.
Note: Textbooks and CSUMB course reserve materials are not eligible for borrowing through resource sharing.
Delivery and Access
- Articles and book chapters will be delivered to your Library Account as PDFs
- Files can be downloaded up to 90 times
- Download links expire after 30 days — save your file to your device or cloud storage
- Books and physical items must be picked up from the library lockers; items not retrieved will be returned to the lending library
Loan Periods, Fees and Responsibility
- Loan periods vary by item and lending library
- Lending libraries charge for lost or unreturned items
- Minimum replacement cost: $90
- Requesters are responsible for these charges
Turnaround Time
- Articles: 1–5 business days
- Books: 2–10 business days
- Requests for rare items or items from outside California may take longer
Media Requests (Videos, DVDs, CDs)
The library generally borrows and lends video materials only within the CSU system.
Faculty needing media for classroom use should:
- Check the library’s existing video collection
- Contact your subject librarian to suggest purchases
