A Bachelor of Science in Sustainable Hospitality Management from Cal State Monterey Bay equips students to thrive in the exciting world of hospitality and tourism with a focus on sustainability. By blending business fundamentals with sustainable practices, students gain practical skills essential for managing various hospitality and tourism organizations. With two concentrations to choose from, graduates are well-prepared for effective management roles in the field.

Concentrations:

  • Destination & Tourism Management
  • Hospitality & Event Management

The BSSHM degree program provides students with local, regional, and global perspectives on current and pressing sustainability issues and problems within the hospitality industry.

The central core of the program focuses on "sustainability plus", going beyond sustainability to address issues in terms of the five dimensions of Responsible Business: People, Ethics, Equity, Planet and Profit.

Students gain hands-on knowledge and skills needed to pursue careers in hospitality, including hotels, restaurants, resorts, festivals and events, ecotourism, attractions, and eco recreation with a focus on "green" jobs in business and industry.

Our #1 priority is to help you achieve your career goals in the hospitality and tourism industry.
