Accreditation by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) would place the College of Business in the top 5% of business schools worldwide. This elite accreditation will ensure our programs meet rigorous standards, including our graduate Online MBA, and undergraduate programs, including the B.S. Accounting, B.S. Agribusiness Supply Chain Management, B.S. Business Administration, and B.S. Sustainable Hospitality & Tourism Management.

AACSB Accreditation Journey

The College of Business initiated AACSB accreditation as a top strategic priority in early 2014. We hosted our AACSB consultants for a mock-visit in February 2024 and subsequently submitted our Initial Self-Evaluation Report (iSER) on November 21, 2024.

In February 2025, the Initial Accreditation Committee (IAC) accepted the College’s Initial Self-Evaluation Report (iSER), marking a major step forward in the accreditation process. With this approval, the College has been invited to develop the final Self-Evaluation Report (SER). The SER is on track to be submitted by May 1, 2026 and our Peer Review Team visit is scheduled for October 2026. A decision is anticipated in early 2027.

Why is AACSB Accreditation Important?

Pursuing AACSB accreditation is important for attracting and retaining qualified faculty & students, enhancing rigor of the curricula, enriching intellectual contribution and scholarship, producing outstanding graduates, and reinforcing CSUMB’s role in regional development. AACSB accredited schools are documented to produce graduates that are highly-skilled and more desirable to employers than other non-accredited schools.

The accreditation process is linked directly to achieving COB’s mission and continuously measuring and improving our Engagement, Impact, and Innovation with all our stakeholders.
