The program will support your learning experience through assets-based learning models and a dual approach that effectively integrates concepts of process, such as conflict resolution and nonviolence skills, with content that includes areas like global conflict, feminist theory of violence, religious peacemaking, and histories and philosophies of nonviolence.

Our commitment to engaging the campus community will enhance your learning by taking you across campus and into surrounding communities to develop scholarly and applied strategies for peace building.
Our comprehensive curriculum is ideal for students who are interested in a future in government or working with non-governmental organizations here and overseas, as well as those who plan to pursue a graduate degree.
Our unique multidisciplinary approach combines international relations with ethnic studies and communication studies, each of which provides a distinctive lens for social analysis.
Complete one of the following Theories of Conflict courses:
- GS 317 - Global Migrant Workers: Ethnic Experiences, Resistance, and Empowerment Units: 4
- GS 327 - Politics of the Middle East Units: 3
- GS 360 - Relig’n/Violence/Peacemaking Units: 4
- GS 363 - Comparative Settler Colonialism: Land, the ‘Logic of Elimination,’ and Structures of Race Units: 3
Complete one of the following Theories and Strategies of Peacebuilding and Social Justice courses:
- GS 323 - International Law Units: 4
- HCOM 404 - Restorative Justice Units: 4
Complete one of the following Communication and Conflict Resolution courses:
- HCOM 309 - Interracial Communication Units: 4
- HCOM 312 - Deliberation and Advocacy Units: 3
