A Lifetime of Value
Instructional Science & Technology, M.S.
The program will instill in you the knowledge and skills to design, develop, implement, and evaluate effective educational and training programs, while integrating cutting-edge technologies for a dynamic career creating immersive and flexible learning experiences.
Educational Objectives
Our Master of Science degree is unique in that most instructional design programs offer the Master of Arts. Our M.S. program will prepare you with a heavier emphasis on technology that will set you apart and make you more attractive to future employers.
Our program setting in the School of Computing and Design will fuel your technological innovation and collaboration with computer science and computer design students, preparing you with a unique edge over other schools where the program is housed in the College of Education.
Our diverse community of students and faculty come from a wide variety of backgrounds and disciplines – including higher education, corporate training, health care, media studies, and K-12 – offering you a more well-rounded and dynamic learning environment than most instructional design programs that cater solely to K-12 teachers.
Our flexibility and innovation means you can choose from fully online and hybrid learning models to mold the program around your needs, and you’ll learn to work with and integrate cutting-edge technologies like e-learning platforms, virtual reality, and interactive multimedia.
Students who need additional preparation in technology and/or writing skills are strongly encouraged to complete IST 501 - Technology Workshop (1-4 units) and/or IST 511 - Writing Workshop (1-4 units). Please consult the Program Coordinator for more information.
