Launch Your Career as a Certified Drone Pilot

The CSUMB Drone Pilot Training Course is a hands-on course designed to prepare students and community members for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Part 107 Remote Pilot Certification Exam, while building real-world applications in environmental monitoring, agriculture, and infrastructure.

Participants will not only prepare for the certification exam, but also gain practical experience flying drones, working in small groups, and engaging with real-world applications along California’s Central Coast. The program includes guided flight sessions and a field-based drone mission that introduces students to aerial mapping, data collection, and professional drone workflows.

By the end of the course, students will have a strong foundation in drone operations, a clear understanding of how drone technology is used in agriculture and environmental work, and the confidence to pursue opportunities in the rapidly growing low-altitude economy.
