Student-Athlete Registration Information
Full Time Enrollment Requirement
To be eligible for practice, competition, and financial aid, you must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours during the fall and spring semesters. If you need fewer than 12 credit hours to graduate, you may enroll in only these final hours and still be eligible for practice, competition, and financial aid. Graduate students who have eligibility remaining must be enrolled in at least nine credit hours to be considered full-time at CSUMB.
Once spring or fall semester classes begin student athletes must maintain 12 minimum units (unless otherwise noted) and to do so every student-athlete will have their minimum unit limit set to 12 units. If the student-athlete needs to adjust their class schedule they can do so as long as they maintain 12 units once all enrollment transactions have been completed.
What if I’m enrolled in 14 units and want to switch from a 3-unit class to another 3-unit class? It won’t let me drop the 3-unit class so I can enroll in the other section.
The swap function will allow you to both drop and add the two courses as one enrollment action keeping you at 14 units after the process is complete. How to swap classes
What if I’m enrolled in a course with a lab or activity component that I need to switch?
You can switch course components by using the Edit function. How to edit classes
I’m no longer a student-athlete. How do I get the minimum unit restriction removed?
