CSUMB’s annual Fall 2023 Job and Internship Fair takes place noon - 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 17, at CSUMB’s University Center.

More than 30 employers from various industries will be attending the fair, ready to connect with students and community members, and share their insights and job openings.

Prospective employers include Natividad, Monterey Bay Aquarium, Monterey Credit Union, California State Parks, Special Kids Connect, Santa Cruz Police Department, and more.

Some organizations will be open to taking resumes and interviewing people on the spot, while CSUMB career counselors will be on hand to help facilitate introductions and answer questions. Refreshments will be served.

The job and internship fair is designed to connect students and community members to the jobs and careers they seek to support themselves and their families.

“The purpose is also to just talk to employers,” said Rhonda Mercadal-Evans, associate director for the Center for Advising, Career, and Student Success, which puts on the job and internship fair. “If people are nervous, this is the place to get comfortable. It’s a safe space. This is great grounds for people to learn and network, and the best thing is to get a job offer when you leave.”

The Center also advises students to utilize the resources of Career Week, which includes help with professional attire and resumes (Oct. 12), drop-ins to talk about preparedness with career advisors (Oct. 16), and more.
