CSUMB President Vanya Quiñones issued a statement about the systemwide Cozen O’Connor Title IX and Discrimination, Harassment and Retaliation assessment released on Monday, July 17. It includes an executive summary report about the system and a separate report concerning California State University, Monterey Bay.

For the first time, the California Orchestra Academy is holding its summer music festival for young musicians at CSU Monterey Bay this week culminating in two free weekend concerts, one at Cabrillo College and the other at CSUMB.

When Sandra Amorim Ruiz was just a year old, her parents left their home there and immigrated to Turlock, in California’s Central Valley. Ruiz is now the director of procurement and contract services for CSU Monterey Bay. Her story is one of a series being told as part of June’s Immigrant Heritage Month.

CSUMB campus closes for Fourth of July holiday

Marine science is one of CSUMB’s distinguishing programs and the science diving course, which was added to the curriculum in 2008, is a relatively unique offering. It’s part of a broader program that trains 300 divers per year, more than any university in the country.

The annual New Student Otter Orientation is an important element for students who are beginning their CSUMB educational careers. First-year students went through their orientation June 22-24 and 26. Transfer students are scheduled for their turn July 13-15 and 17.
