Network Engineering

Network Engineering helps keep Cal State Monterey Bay connected. Our team supports the secure, reliable network that powers classrooms, residence halls and campus offices. From wireless access in every building to the systems that protect university data, Network Engineering ensures students, faculty and staff can teach, learn and work without interruption.

Network Operations

The Network Operations team manages the university’s two data centers, supporting more than 300 servers and systems and hundreds of terabytes of secure storage. This infrastructure ensures students, faculty and staff have reliable access to the tools, files and systems they need to learn, teach and work every day. By maintaining stable, high-performing systems, Network Operations supports collaboration, innovation and student success across campus.

Network Pathways

Our Network Pathways team builds and maintains the physical connections that keep Cal State Monterey Bay running. From the cables behind office and residence hall wall plates to the underground telecommunications lines across campus, the team supports the infrastructure that carries voice, data and video. Network Pathways also maintains the campus cable TV system and East Campus cable modem services. This behind-the-scenes work ensures seamless connectivity throughout the university community.

Telecommunications

Our Telecommunications team keeps our campus community connected and reachable. They manage our campus phone and voice systems, including Zoom Voice over IP (VoIP), voicemail, contact centers and emergency phone lines. They also support integration with cellular networks to ensure reliable communication across campus. By maintaining secure and dependable communication systems, Telecommunications supports safety, service and everyday operations.

Broadcast

Our Broadcasting team delivers live-streamed and televised coverage of performances, athletics and special events across the internet and the campus TV system. They also provide more than 100 video channels — including campus-produced channels such as Campus Kiosk, CINE student films, KelpBed Athletics and OtterMedia — serving residence halls, campus buildings and the East Campus community. Through accessible media services and on-demand programming, Broadcasting strengthens connection and engagement across the Otter community.
