Background
FSSD is a collaboration between Academic Affairs, Information Technology, and Institutional Assessment & Research.
We are sponsored by CSU Fullerton, who is leading the initiative and also assisting the implementation at CSU Dominguez Hills.
CSUMB is the first campus in the system since CSU Fullerton to provide its own FSSD to faculty.
Data sources
FSSD combines existing data from both the Otter Academic Student Information System (OASIS) and the Canvas learning management system into an easy-to-use dashboard.
Privacy
All FERPA and data security training policies and procedures apply to these data, which faculty already have access to in other systems.
Timeline
- Project start: January 2022
- Beta test: April 2022
- Full release: August 2022.
Testimonials
CSU Fullerton already provides a faculty student success dashboard to its faculty.
CSU Fullerton professor Christopher Kondo: “I feel like I’ve gotten more insight into the students as a group, and that’s helped me tailor my approach to the class.”
