Updating the Student Printing Experience

Starting in Fall 2025, Information Technology is rolling out a new way to print on campus WEPA (Wireless Everywhere Print Anywhere). Five new printing kiosks will make it easier than ever for our students to print what they need when they need it.

What is WEPA?

WEPA is a cloud-based printing system designed for students. It lets you send documents straight from your laptop, phone, or cloud storage and pick them up at any WEPA kiosk on campus without logging into a campus computer.

Using the WEPA mobile app is the fastest way to print. Just upload your documents (up to 6 days before you plan to print), choose your settings, and release the job with a few taps when you’re at the kiosk.

Important Note: Departmental printing will remain unchanged; this update only applies to the student-access printing system.

Why we're moving to WEPA

We’re switching to WEPA to make campus printing simpler, safer, and more sustainable. Here’s what’s in it for you:

  • Convenience: No more hunting down a computer lab. You can print straight from your device and pick up your pages when and where you want.
  • Student privacy: Your files stay safe in the cloud until you’re physically at the kiosk to release the print, with no chance of someone else grabbing your documents.
  • Full-color printing: Every WEPA kiosk lets you print in color or black and white, depending on your needs.
  • Sustainability: WEPA encourages smarter printing by reducing waste and using energy-efficient systems. Features like print preview and default double-sided printing help you print using less resources.

Where will you find WEPA kiosks?

We’re planning to place WEPA kiosks in these five campus locations:

  • Tanimura & Antle Library
  • Business & Information Technology Building
  • Chapman Science Center
  • Otter Student Union
  • Heron Hall

Final kiosk spots will be confirmed in June.

Timeline

We’re expecting to start installing and testing the kiosks in late June so we can have them ready for the Fall semester.

Printing Costs & Payment

Each student will receive $5.00 in free print credits per academic year. After that, you can easily add funds through the WEPA mobile app.

(We’ll share more info soon about per-page costs.)
