Retirement Plans

Learn about retirement plans here at Cal State Monterey Bay.

Cal State Monterey Bay provides several retirement plan options to support employees in planning for long-term financial security. Depending on eligibility and appointment type, employees may participate in the CalPERS pension system, the Faculty Early Retirement Program (FERP), or the Part-Time/Seasonal/Temporary (PST) Retirement Plan.

In addition to pension benefits, employees may choose to participate in supplemental tax-deferred retirement savings plans, including 403(b), 401(k), and 457 programs.

Faculty considering participation in FERP may use the PRTB-FERP Retirement Benefits Calculator to obtain an unofficial estimate of projected CSU salary and CalPERS retirement benefits. This tool is intended for planning purposes only and does not provide official benefit determinations.
