CSUMB Facilities Management & Planning keeps our campus running—maintaining buildings and classrooms, caring for our coastal grounds, and managing sustainable operations. From routine repairs and custodial care to utilities, landscaping, and preventive maintenance, our team works behind the scenes so teaching, research, and student life can thrive. We also plan and deliver capital improvements, support events and moves, and lead initiatives that reduce energy and water use, improve accessibility, and advance campus sustainability goals. Every service request is handled with safety, responsiveness, and stewardship in mind—because a clean, reliable, and welcoming campus is essential to the CSUMB experience.

Our Team

Our department is responsible for the planning, design, construction, maintenance, and repair of university facilities and grounds, and consists of 11 critical and interdependent support teams:

Campus Planning

Campus Planning initiates and develops projects, plans, and studies that create the physical spaces needed to support CSUMB’s academic mission. The team works closely with campus and community partners to transform the campus and former Fort Ord into a vibrant, thriving community. Campus Planning manages campus development and project design to ensure all work meets the Master Plan, SUAM standards, ADA requirements, and building codes.
