Plan Your Academic Path

Academic Advisors are here to help you stay on track and make confident decisions about your education. Whether you’re mapping out your next semester or checking your progress toward graduation, you’ll have guidance every step of the way.

Advisors can help you:

  • Understand degree requirements
  • Review your Academic Requirements Report (ARR)
  • Plan future courses and semesters
  • Navigate prerequisites and university policies
  • Connect with campus resources that support your success

Students often meet with advisors when preparing for registration, reviewing progress, or planning ahead. Meeting earlier in the term can give you more options and reduce stress during busy registration periods.

Connect with an Advisor

You can meet with an advisor in the way that works best for you:

  • Appointments: Get personalized support based on your goals
  • Drop-in advising: Quick questions or immediate help

If your needs go beyond course planning — such as navigating challenges or building academic strategies — General Advising drop-ins are a great place to start.

Prepare for Your Appointment

Make the most of your time by coming prepared:

  • Review your Academic Requirements Report (ARR)
  • Bring questions about your progress, courses or goals
  • Be ready to discuss what’s working well and where you need support

Arrive about five minutes early so your appointment can begin on time. If you arrive more than 10 minutes late, you may need to reschedule.

After your meeting, you can review a summary of your appointment in Otter Navigate.
