HSI Advisory Committee

The HSI Advisory Committee is comprised of faculty, staff, administrators, and student representatives that support and advance the mission of the institution as a federally designated Hispanic-Serving Institution. The committee reviews the needs, priorities, and perspectives of the Latiné student population at Cal State Monterey Bay to provide recommendations regarding institutional planning, policy development, and resource allocation. The HSI Advisory Committee is committed to equity, student success, and the values of servingness to focus on intentional, asset-based support for Latiné students.

Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor institutional progress on goals related to equity, retention, persistence, graduation, and representation of Latiné students.

- Advise campus leadership on initiatives, programs, and policies that enhance the success and well-being of Latiné students, faculty, and staff.

- Support the development, implementation, and assessment of culturally sensitive academic and co-curricular programs, such as advising.

- Promote inclusive practices that encourage authentic representation and foster a sense of belonging for Latiné students, faculty, and staff.
