Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSI) Week

HSI Week

Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI) Week is a designated period that recognizes and celebrates the contributions, achievements, and significance of Hispanic-Serving Institutions in the United States. These institutions are colleges and universities where at least 25% of the undergraduate, full-time student population is Hispanic.

At CSUMB, HSI Week is an annual celebration that highlights the vital role HSIs play in expanding educational opportunities and advancing equity for Hispanic and Latino students. The period of observation typically occurs in September, in conjunction with Hispanic Heritage Month, and it honors the commitment of hispanic-serving institutions to academic excellence, cultural inclusion, and community empowerment.
