Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act (DFSCA)

The purpose of the DFSCA is to prevent the unlawful possession, use and distribution of illicit drugs and alcohol by students and employees on institutional property, or as part of any of its activities. CSUMB is committed to providing a safe and welcoming environment conducive to learning, teaching and working for students and employees. In furtherance of our commitment, CSUMB complies with DFSCA by doing the following:

  1. Maintaining a comprehensive Drug and Alcohol Abuse Prevention Program (DAAPP) document;
  2. Distributing the DAAPP document in September and February annually through a mass email notification to all students and employees, posts a link to the DAAPP in the CSUMB catalog, on admissions webpages and in orientation materials to reach students and employees that join the university after the annual distributions; and
  3. Preparing a Biennial Review designed to implement and evaluate campus strategies to prevent high-risk drinking and substance use/abuse among college students.
