University Police

The CSU Monterey Bay Police Department offers Live Scan fingerprinting. We provide fingerprinting services to students, faculty, staff, auxiliary employees, and the general public.

Before you come in

• Call for an appointment at (831) 582-3573. No walk-in customers
• You must have a form from the person or agency requesting the Livescan
• Determine your Digital print costs using the fees below.

Fees for live scan

Fees vary depending on the type of background your agency requires.

• $30.00 Rolling Fee
• $32.00 Department of Justice
• $17.00 FBI
• $19.00 Firearms
• $15.00 Child Abuse

CSUMB students, staff, faculty, and auxiliary employees pay a $15.00 Rolling Fee

All fees are subject to change without notice. Refer to the Department of Justice Fingerprinting Process Fees for a detailed list of the various fees.

Bring the following items with you

1. Photo ID such as a California or other state driver’s license or state ID card; and
2.  Campus ID card if you are a student, faculty, or staff, in order to receive a campus discount; and
3. Live Scan form provided by your requesting agency; and
4. Cash or check only

You must have a parking permit to park on campus, you may purchase one from a dispenser or online at CSUMB.EDU/Parking/Buy Permit

The UPD serves as the central collection point for lost and found items, such as clothing, jewelry, glasses, keys, and books. 

Lost and Found property is held in the Parking Services Office for a maximum of 3 months. We encourage anyone who has lost property while at CSUMB to check Lost and Found to see if the property was turned in. A large amount of property remains unclaimed.

If you have lost or found property, please contact Parking Services at 831-582-3573. You can also report lost property online.

Claiming lost property

If you want to claim your lost property, you should provide a detailed verbal description of the item(s) and the approximate location and date it was lost. Written descriptions and written verification of ownership are desirable.

If any descriptions match the lost item, you will be shown the item(s). If the property that you identified closely matches the property description, it will be returned to you only if you produce valid photo identification.

The Night Walk Service provides walking escorts between main campus locations, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to anyone who would like to use it. Call 831-655-0268 to request a Night Walk.
