We are excited to join again on campus this August for the Fall 2021 semester. COVID-19 vaccines are highly effective at preventing infection and reducing the spread of the virus. We believe it is essential for the health and well-being of our campus community that everyone is vaccinated. Students, faculty, and staff will receive email invitations by groups to submit proof of vaccination or exemption using the Otter Vaccination Registry throughout July.

STUDENTS

All non-vaccinated students must wear face-coverings in all indoor spaces, including buildings, classrooms, and common areas in university housing.

Fully vaccinated students who consent to share their status will not be required to test weekly for COVID-19; however, they are encouraged to test if symptomatic. Also, they will not be required to wear face coverings in indoor spaces unless otherwise posted.

Students with university housing reservations must submit proof of vaccination or exemption before July 31, or they may be denied access to move-in.

Students who do not reside in university housing will be invited to submit proof of vaccination or exemption near the beginning of August.

On-campus students who do not submit evidence of vaccination must test weekly beginning Monday, August 23. The university will announce the testing site processes in August.

EMPLOYEES

Until the university obtains vaccination status for all faculty and staff, employees must wear face-coverings in all indoor spaces, including buildings and classrooms.

Fully vaccinated employees who consent to share their status will not be required to test weekly for COVID-19; but should test if symptomatic. After their department leaders notify them, they will also have the option to choose not to wear a face-covering in indoor spaces.

Confidentials, Corporation employees, MPPs, and Student Assistants must submit vaccine information or exemption documentation before July 16, using the link on the dashboard. Those who do not submit evidence of vaccination must test weekly beginning Monday, August 23, 2021. The university will announce the testing site processes in August.

Represented employees are encouraged to submit proof of vaccination or exemption now using the link on the dashboard, and will receive information about testing requirements after the meet and confer process.

We look forward to returning to campus, reconnecting in person with friends and colleagues, and recreating the singular, transformational CSUMB experience for and with our students.
