Lexipol Connect has awarded CSUMB’s University Police Department Gold-level status. Police Chief Earl Lawson explained that Lexipol Gold is focused on policy updates, acknowledgments, and training.

UPD has worked to keep policies up-to-date and collaborate with other CSU police departments systemwide, said Lawson. Part of UPD’s award-winning program includes Daily Training Bulletins which help keep the staff current on the latest policies and best practices.

Lawson credits a philosophy of continuous improvement and service, professionalism, and proficiency in implementing revised policies and best practices for his department achieving Gold-level recognition from Lexipol.

Lexipol is a consulting group that provides personalized training manuals and training programs to law enforcement agencies throughout the US. Over 90% of law enforcement agencies in California participate in Lexipol’s programs, which also serve fire departments and other public safety organizations.

The Lexipol Connect program awards Gold-level status to departments that have achieved the highest levels of compliance with best practices and implementation updates to newer laws and policing policies.
