CSUMB Police Officers Recognized for Life-Saving Actions

SEASIDE, Ca., January 30, 2020 – Two California State University, Monterey Bay (CSUMB) University Police Department (UPD) officers were recognized this week during the second annual CSU Police Commendations Award Ceremony at the Office of the Chancellor in Long Beach, California.

SEASIDE, Ca., January 30, 2020 – Two California State University, Monterey Bay (CSUMB) University Police Department (UPD) officers were recognized this week during the second annual CSU Police Commendations Award Ceremony at the Office of the Chancellor in Long Beach, California.

The awards honor the contributions of the men and women who help keep our campuses safe and whose outstanding actions go above and beyond the call of duty.

Sergeant Gordon and Corporal Prebula were recognized for their collective bravery, judgement and professionalism while responding to a dynamic and life-threatening situation on campus in 2018. Their actions ultimately saved a life while ensuring the safety of the community in the immediate vicinity of the area.

 

We are extremely proud of Sergeant Gordon and Corporal Prebula and excited to have their heroic actions recognized by Chancellor White and the CSU Board of Trustees. Corporal Prebula and Sergeant Gordon exemplify the dedication and professionalism we've come to expect from our patrol officers."
