"I am very proud to be a Latina. I'm Puerto Rican and I'm more proud to be the president of this university which is a Hispanic-Serving Institution,” Quiñones said in the story.

“Hispanics, we all have important contributions to the community. We contribute in the health field, in the science field, and in the education field. And this is a way to celebrate our cultural contributions. But also how important we are to make the fiber of our country.”
