CSUMB kinesiology students present research abstracts at a prestigious conference
The students also competed in the annual “Jeopardy!”-style competition, testing their knowledge of nutrition and exercise science.
CSUMB kinesiology students Citlaly Jauregui, Nicolle Leon, Margaret Falknor, and Matt Richey presented research abstracts they worked on under kinesiology faculty at the 2023 Annual American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) Southwest Chapter meeting in Costa Mesa, Oct. 26-27.
Jauregui and Leon presented on sports supplement research under Dr. Steven Machek. Falknor and Richey covered recent pickleball findings under Dr. Eric Martin's mentorship.
The four kinesiology students also competed in the annual “Jeopardy!”-style student bowl competition against fellow undergraduate students from Arizona, California, Hawaii, Nevada, New Mexico and Utah, testing their knowledge of nutrition and exercise science.
Having attended several information-packed lectures and having gained valuable networking experience, many of these students are excited to present their research at the national conference in Boston in May 2024.
