During the holiday break and winter semester, campus services may be closed or limited. Below are some of the alterations; please consult each department for details.

Physical and mental health services

Health and Wellness Services in building 80 will be closed during the holiday break Friday, Dec. 22 - Monday, Jan. 1. During this time, students can still access mental health crisis support by calling 831-582-3969, and may obtain health services at any Doctors on Duty clinics by showing their CSUMB IDs.

During the remainder of the winter break (Tuesday, Jan. 2 - Friday, Jan. 19), students and employees may access the Campus Health Center between 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The CHC hours return to 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 16.

Mental health crisis support is available during winter semester by calling 831-582-3969, and  the Personal Growth and Counseling Center office will be open Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. to 5 p.m at the same number.

For additional crisis support in Monterey County, please reference Additional Resources on the Student Crisis Response flier and accessible format.

Housing and Residential Life

Student Housing and Residential Life's main office will be open 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Dec. 18-20 and Jan. 2-19; will have limited hours, 8 a.m. - 2 p.m., on Dec. 21 and Jan. 8; and will be closed Dec. 22 to Jan. 1.

Resident Advisors will be on call throughout the winter break by phone, which is listed on the SHRL webpage.

Students can submit work and maintenance orders in the MyHousing portal for main campus, and through Rentcafe for Frederick Park, though some work may experience delays. Facilities emergencies should be communicated to the RA on duty for main campus, or the Greystar Property Management office at 831-883-3157 for residents of Frederick Park.

Dining Services

Nearly all the many dining options on campus will be closed prior to and during the holiday break, and will have modified hours during winter break. The Otter Express will be the main dining location. See the holiday and winter semester hours on the Otter Dining webpage

According to Vaness Parra, marketing manager for Otter Kitchens, from Dec. 22 - Jan. 1 they will be “providing holiday pack-outs” of spaghetti and meatballs, chicken with roasted vegetables and brown rice pilaf, or spiced Moroccan vegetables with chickpeas.

Otter Express will have a limited menu during winter break.

Otter Student Union

The OSU building is closed weekends starting Dec. 16, and also on Dec. 20, but is open Dec. 18-19 and 21-22. It’s closed Dec. 23 - Jan. 1, open 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. Jan. 2, and returns to regular operating hours Jan. 18.

Professional and student staff will be on-site when open. According to Diana Ballesteros, associate director of OSU, “The building will be open with the information desk open and available but the game room will be closed during the winter break.”

Facilities, Shipping and Receiving

Facilities Maintenance Services will be available during the holiday and winter break by calling the Facilities Service Desk at 831-582-3700. Shipping and receiving (including mail services delivery) will continue during winter break but not during the holiday break Dec. 24 - Jan. 1.

Dec. 22 - Jan. 1 it will be closed for the holiday break. It will reopen Jan. 2 at 10 a.m. for students.
