The students of CSUMB music department faculty member Carlos A. Tottress are performing a free, annual, holiday voice recital concert at 4 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8, at the World Theater (5260 6th Ave., Seaside).
Tottress said the students will perform “some of the most beloved and popular Christmas and holiday songs,” from the contemporary to the traditional.
They include "Last Christmas" by George Michael, "Merry Christmas Darling" by the Carpenters, "Winter Wonderland" by Felix Bernard, "This Christmas" by Donny Hathaway, "Esta Navidad" by Luis Coronel, "Silent Night" by Franz Xaver Gruber and more.
“Our voice students have worked on and will demonstrate their study of intermediate to advanced techniques of vocal production and expressive interpretation,” Tottress said.
That training has enabled each student to produce their best sound and focus on artistry.
Tottress teaches voice, chorale, gospel choir, songwriting, musical theater, piano and music for children.
The concert is free to all to attend; a parking permit must be purchased.
