CSUMB faculty honored in Tenure and Promotion ceremony

A group of 22 CSU Monterey Bay faculty members were honored on Wednesday, Sept. 27, at the third annual Tenure and Promotion Reception. 

“I’m standing here to make sure you know that we are proud of you,” President Vanya Quiñones said, addressing a crowd in the University Center that included the honorees along with family and friends. “We are lucky that you are here.”

Those being honored were introduced by their respective deans and lauded for their contributions to CSUMB and beyond, including being recognized for publishing papers in distinguished journals and serving on the boards of high-profile professional organizations.

Interim Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs  Andrew Lawson said those accomplishments were only the start. 

“This is a significant marker on a career trajectory filled with continued contributions,” Lawson told the gathering. “Your dedication, your work and your passion are a credit to CSUMB.”

Five faculty members were promoted to full professorships:

  • Joel Ryman*, College of Business
  • Maria Bellumori, College of Health Sciences and Human Services 
  • Vanessa Lopez-Littleton, College of Health Sciences and Human Services
