Greater Vision provides look at agriculture trends and careers

Karen Ross, the secretary of the California Department of Food and Agriculture, will be the keynote speaker at this year’s Greater Vision, a forum on agriculture sponsored through a partnership between CSU Monterey Bay and the Grower Shipper Association Foundation. The Monday, Oct. 2 event, which runs from noon to 2 p.m. at the Otter Student Union, will also feature panel discussions on the skills needed for a career in today’s agricultural industry.
One panel will feature experts in such areas as robotics, AI and sustainable technologies. Dennis Donohue, director of Western Growers Center for Innovation and Technology, will moderate. A second panel will focus on job opportunities and the skills needed for careers in agriculture. More information on the panelists can be found at the Greater Vision webpage.
An Ag Jobs Career and Internship Fair will follow the forum, from 2:30 to 4 p.m. Ag industry employers will be on hand to speak with interested candidates.
