The Monterey County Weekly Reader’s Poll has named Enid Baxter Ryce the best professor in the county. Ryce was honored with that title in the newspaper’s recently published Best of Monterey County ‘23 readers' poll. CSU Monterey Bay was also named best school in the annual list. 

CSUMB has received such recognition from the publication several times in the past. But this is only the second time in recent years that a professor from the university has been honored. Jennifer Colby was professor of the year in 2022.

“This award means the world to me - to know that my community values my work,” Baxter Ryce said. “I always hope that my students are enjoying my, somewhat experimental, approach to teaching, and I am constantly trying to find new ways to make their experiences relevant to their goals. I am so grateful to my department for always supporting me.”
