CSUMB receives award from Monterey Peninsula Chamber of Commerce

The Monterey Peninsula Chamber of Commerce selected CSU Monterey Bay to receive the 2023 Education and Training Award as part of its 36th annual Business Excellence Awards ceremony. It took place Thursday, July 20, and was attended by hundreds of business and community leaders. 

"This event increases public awareness of the vital role business plays on the Central Coast, and gives recognition to those businesses that have achieved excellence in their fields," read a MPCC statement. 

More than 1,500 votes were cast by chamber members and the general public, and awards were presented to the top businesses in 16 categories. 

Among those in attendance from CSUMB were President Vanya Quiñones, who received the award and delivered remarks; Dean of the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences, Juanita Cole; Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Affairs, Ben Corpus; Assistant Vice President and Interim Chief of Staff, Hayley Azevedo; and Interim Dean of the College of Science Thomas Horvath.
