Hispanic Heritage Month runs Sept. 15 until Oct. 15, and California State University Monterey Bay and Monterey Peninsula College have collaborated on a Hispanic Heritage Month exhibit at MPC Library, on the 3rd floor.
It's made up of photographs, clippings, books in display cases, and QR codes, highlighting local activism and both campus community's journeys.
The exhibit features El Yanqui and El Malcriado newspapers documenting lived experiences, and a photo journey of El Centros, located at CSUMB and MPC with images of students and employees affirming a need for community space.
Both MPC and CSUMB have also created Library Resource Guides to empower, affirm and reflect the experiences of Hispanic and Latinx communities during Hispanic Serving Institutions Week. They showcase Hispanic and Latinx literature and are still available to access.
