In an interview that ranged from the Eastern European origin of her first name to reflections on farming and educational opportunities, Doug McKnight of KAZU spoke with President Quiñones eight months into her term as president of CSU Monterey Bay.

"She wore a baseball cap sporting the school’s mascot name...and introduced herself by her first name, Vanya," according to an online version of the story.

The interview aired on 90.3 FM last week, and can be heard on the radio station's website under the title "Vanya Quiñones: University president, neuroscientist, cowgirl."
