CSU Libraries now have a new contract with the journal provider Elsevier.

In March 2020, California State University and Elsevier agreed to a two-year renewal contract to periodicals currently made available through the database ScienceDirect. With around 2,000 journals, content focuses on the sciences, but our Elsevier contract does include about one hundred periodicals in economics and about the same number of journals in business. Subscription cost increases were kept to around 1.5%. The contract expires December 2021.

Consumer Use of the Internet & Mobile Web 2020-2021 (2020)

Lots of current data, tables, and information highlights covering a range of internet and technology-related topics such as smartphone use, fitness tracking, and social media demographics.

Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ)

A curated, searchable database of over 14,500 online, full text, and open access peer-reviewed journals. Includes over 400 periodicals in business and economics. DOAJ has been added to the library's list of databases.

Guide to Venture Capital & Venture Capital Firms (2020)

Information on 3,000 or so business funding firms. Users have access to a range of intuitive search options such as by city, state, and zipcode. Provides contact details, investment ranges, and lists of companies currently funded. Online access ends April 2021.

Market Share Reporter (2020)

Latest edition with over 3,600 market share tables covering products, companies, and brands (e.g., "Top Frozen Pie Brands, 2019").

Restaurant, Food & Beverage Market Research Handbook 2020-2021 (2020)

Current and online. Information on U.S. dining demographics, restaurant sales, the coffee market, and other food and drink-related topics.

Sage Encyclopedia of Business Ethics and Society (2018)

Updated, seven volumes, with over 1,200 signed articles. Examples of entries are "Conflict of Interest," "Greenwashing," "Nike, Inc.," "Too Big to Fail," and "Whistle-Blowing."

Open to students, staff, and faculty. You will need headphones or speakers (microphone handy but not required). After this session, you should be able to:
- describe key features of Zotero
- install the Zotero desktop program and the Zotero Connector
- gather citations from a variety of search tools using Zotero
- use Zotero within Word to insert in-text citations and bibliographies in the format of your choice (e.g., APA)
