Culture Identity Centers at Cal State Monterey Bay serve as inclusive spaces that foster community, identity exploration and student success. Each center promotes belonging, empowerment and advocacy through programs focused on education, leadership development and cultural engagement.

Open to all students, the centers reflect and celebrate the diversity of the campus community while contributing to a culture of inclusivity, respect and support.

El Centro

El Centro at Cal State Monterey Bay fosters an inclusive, empowering community that centers and celebrates Latiné/Chicanx identity. Open to all students, staff, and faculty, El Centro is a space to build connection, develop cultural awareness, and grow emotionally, socially, academically, and professionally.

Helen Rucker Center

The Helen Rucker Center at Cal State Monterey Bay empowers students, faculty, staff, and community members through academic, cultural, and professional programs grounded in the heritage and histories of the African Diaspora. As a regional hub for learning, leadership, and engagement, the center uplifts Black voices and fosters solidarity across communities.

Otter Cross Cultural Center

A hub for identity-affirming dialogue, collaboration and celebration that invites students to connect through culturally affirming programs, explore issues of identity and justice and engage in transformative leadership development.

Rainbow Raft Pride Center

The Rainbow Raft Pride Center at Cal State Monterey Bay is a welcoming and inclusive space that affirms the diverse experiences of LGBTQ+ students and allies. Through advocacy, resources, and cultural and educational programming, the center fosters belonging, celebrates queer identities, and promotes intersectional equity across campus.
