Types of Financial Aid at CSUMB

Grants

Grants are need-based financial aid awards that don’t need to be repaid. These include the Federal Pell Grant, California State Grant, and the State University Grant.

Scholarships

CSUMB awards more than $14 million in scholarships annually. Like grants, these awards do not need to be repaid. Scholarships include need- and merit-based awards, including options for specific areas of study. Our office also keeps an updated list of external scholarships.
