Admitted Otter Days give you and your family a chance to experience life at Cal State Monterey Bay. 

You'll tour classrooms and residence halls, talk to faculty and staff, and hear about our programs and services. Throughout your time here, you'll begin to understand why our inspiring coastal community is such an excellent place to live and learn. You'll also have the chance to connect with other students and families, giving you a sense of the supportive and vibrant community you'll be a part of.

Admitted Otter Day - April 12, 2025

Admitted Otter Days give accepted students a chance to explore campus, meet faculty, and learn about academic programs. Students can connect with fellow incoming Otters, building friendships and a sense of community before the semester starts. These events help create excitement and ease the transition to university life.

Similar to our Admitted Otter days, we host a special day just for Transfer students. Students can connect with fellow incoming transfer Otters to build a sense of community before the semester starts. These events help create excitement and ease the transition between institutions.

Otter Day Questions & Answers

Admitted Otter Day is not mandatory but is encouraged. This is a preview day designed for admitted students and their families to visit and tour campus. 

Students who commit to attending will be invited to a mandatory Orientation in June.

Cal State Monterey Bay has a commitment to sustainability and we encourage you to bring a reusable water bottle or travel mug for beverages. There are hydration stations available throughout campus.

Parking is complimentary for visitors. Registered attendees will receive a parking permit to print and display on their dashboard. All vehicles will park in Lot 59 for the event.

Our on-campus shuttle, The Wave, will operate throughout the day to assist you in getting to and from our various locations.

We will offer light continental refreshments for the morning session. We also will have various food trucks and campus eateries open with food/drinks for purchase.

Yes! We will have an area where students can submit their Intent to Enroll and receive some CSUMB swag once they do.

We will have both campus and housing tours available for those who are interested. These will be led by student staff and will be administered based on a wristband system to ensure flow and a pleasant tour experience.

Yes, we encourage students to bring their families to this event.

Although we love our fur babies, only service animals will be allowed on this day.

We strongly encourage all students to RSVP so that our campus can plan accordingly.

Absolutely! This event is to give students a preview of Cal State Monterey Bay and all that it has to offer.

Dress in layers and wear comfortable walking shoes. Our weather can be unpredictable in April, so check the forecast before arriving on campus! Our Campus Store will also be open if you would like to purchase Otter gear.
