April 11 (First Year) and April 25 (Transfer)

Admitted Otter Days offer you and your family the opportunity to experience life at Cal State Monterey Bay. You will tour classrooms and residence halls, connect with faculty and staff, learn about academic programs and campus services, and explore what makes our coastal community an exceptional place to live and learn. You will also meet other students and families and gain insight into the supportive and vibrant community you may soon join.

Ready to make it Otter Official? Admitted first-year students are invited to Admitted Otter Day on April 11, and admitted transfer students are invited to Admitted Transfer Day on April 25. Join us to interact with faculty, meet one on one with your financial aid counselor, tour the campus, enjoy lunch, and explore student housing while getting a true sense of the CSUMB experience.

Otter Day Questions & Answers

Admitted Otter/Transfer Days are not mandatory but strongly encouraged. This is a preview day designed for admitted students and their families to visit campus, and get support as they prepare for the school year.

Cal State Monterey Bay has a commitment to sustainability and we encourage you to bring a reusable water bottle or travel mug for beverages. There are hydration stations available throughout campus.

Parking is complimentary for visitors. Registered attendees will receive a parking permit when arriving to campus. All vehicles will park in Lot 59 for the event.

Our on-campus shuttle, The Wave, will operate throughout the day to assist you in getting to and from our various locations.

We will offer light continental refreshments for the morning session. We also will have lunch available during the day, and campus eateries will be open for purchase.

Yes! We will have an area where students can submit their Intent to Enroll and receive some CSUMB swag once they do.

We will have both campus and housing tours available for those who are interested. These will be led by student staff and will be administered based on a wristband system to ensure flow and a pleasant tour experience.

Yes, we encourage students to bring their families to this event.

Although we love our fur babies, only service animals will be allowed on this day.

We strongly encourage all students to RSVP so that our campus can plan accordingly.

Absolutely! This event is to give students a preview of Cal State Monterey Bay and all that it has to offer.

Dress in layers and wear comfortable walking shoes. Our weather can be chilly in December, so check the forecast before arriving on campus! Our Campus Store will also be open if you would like to purchase Otter gear.
