Lead the Way in Feeding the World
The Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness Supply Chain Management (ASCM) at Cal State Monterey Bay is the first undergraduate degree in the CSU system — and one of the few nationwide — to focus on perishable logistics. Built with direct input from industry leaders in the Salinas and Pajaro Valleys, the program prepares graduates with specialized skills to manage temperature-sensitive supply chains and lead innovation in a critical global industry.
Students learn every stage of moving food from farms to tables, gaining hands-on experience in procurement, inventory control, cold chain operations, sustainability and global trade. Alongside technical expertise, the program emphasizes ethical and sustainable practices that improve food access, reduce waste and strengthen communities.
With two concentration options — Agribusiness Risk and Marketing Management or Supply Chain Management and Operations — students can tailor their studies to align with their goals. Faculty with industry connections guide students through projects and fieldwork that provide practical experience and position graduates for leadership roles in agribusiness and beyond.

Lead the Future of Food Systems
The ASCM program is designed to prepare students for leadership in a rapidly evolving food system. Students learn to analyze risk, manage complex logistics, and apply data to improve decision-making across agricultural and food-related industries. The program’s goal is to produce graduates who are as comfortable with contracts and compliance as they are with addressing climate impacts and consumer needs.
By combining business fundamentals with applied agricultural science and hands-on experience, the program equips students to step confidently into roles in procurement, operations, food safety and global distribution — or to pursue graduate study in related fields.
