About
The CSU Monterey Bay College Corps Fellowship is a state-funded scholarship program through California Volunteers, Office of the Governor to provide up to $10,000 to undergraduate students in exchange for 450 hours of community service and training. The goal of the fellowship is to increase the affordability of college while developing tangible interpersonal, professional, and leadership skills. The College Corps Fellowship is housed in CSU Monterey Bay’s Service Learning Institute and places Fellows at local nonprofits, K-12 public schools, healthcare institutions, and environmental organizations in Monterey, San Benito, and Santa Cruz Counties.
What fellows receive:
- Experiential learning experiences that address health inequities, environmental stewardship, food insecurity, and K-12 education
- Meaningful connections with community leaders and stakeholders that can potentially lead to social mobility and workforce opportunities
- Access to a vast network of supportive and like-minded people inside and outside the CSUMB campus. This includes Affinity Centers, Fellows from other campuses, College Corps Alumni, and regional decision-makers
- An opportunity to serve at a Community Host Partner site and perform impactful service with guidance from a mentor, supervisor, staff, and/or faculty member
- Depending on the financial aid package, Fellows could be eligible for up to a $10,000 scholarship (monthly living allowance and educational award)
