Department of Nursing

Preparing nurse leaders committed to advancing health equity, evidence-based practice and community health.

Equity, Advocacy and Excellence in Care

The Department of Nursing equips students to meet the complex challenges of modern healthcare. Our programs emphasize cultural humility, interprofessional collaboration and social justice, preparing nurses who can provide high-quality care to diverse populations and advocate for equity in health systems.

Two Pathways, One Goal: Your BSN

Students can choose the route that fits their background and goals. Licensed RNs can advance through the RN to BSN program, while those starting at a partner community college may join a cooperative ADN-to-BSN bridge program. These options provide flexible, accelerated pathways to a bachelor’s degree while preparing nurses to lead in today’s healthcare system.

Flexible Hybrid Format

Courses are offered through Extended Education as hybrid classes, blending online and face-to-face learning to maximize access. Classes are typically scheduled on the same day to accommodate working nurses and transfer students. Depending on your pace, the BSN can be completed in three semesters full-time or five semesters part-time.

“The cooperative program has been a huge advantage. Taking BSN courses while completing my ADN has shortened the time to my degree, and the coordination between the two schools has been seamless. The instructors are truly invested in us and want to see us succeed.” — Katie Cashatt

Programs

Nursing, B.S.

The B.S. in Nursing program features two pathways — one for RNs and one for ADNs — as a way to grow their knowledge and skills, expand their career opportunities in nursing, and gain excellent preparation for graduate nursing programs, all with the goal of providing exceptional patient care and improving lives.
