Can I still join a session if I’m late?

  • 50 min appointments: If you are more than 15 minutes late, please contact us to reschedule for another time so you can get the most from the session.
    • If you are 15 mins late or more, we have the right to give your spot to another student.
    • If you are 15 mins late or more, we have a practice of doing our best to reschedule you to get the most out of your sessions.

How many appointments can I make per week?

You can make up to three appointments per week per subject-area without staff/admin assistance. If you need support scheduling, you can contact clc@csumb.edu or give us a call at 831-582-4104. Students with accommodations have different needs and work with CLC on their needs. Contact clc@csumb.edu for accommodations consultation after meeting with SDR, or if you need help connecting with SDR.

How many appointments can I make per day?

  • Students are able to make up to three appointments per subject, per week. Students who are working on writing assignments are limited to one appointment per day, but may supplement one appointment per day with drop-in writing and other services.
  • For all other subjects, one session a day is typically sufficient. If a student finds they need additional support, they may check in with the front desk to discuss a additonal support time.
    • Scheduling a second session on the same day will be dependent on availability, and also ensuring these sessions do not take place back-to-back with the same tutor.

Do I need a password to join my sessions?

Sessions for CLC are not password-protected, but if you are not signed in to your CSUMB Zoom account, you may be locked out of the meeting or asked for a password. Make sure you are signed in to csumb.zoom.us through Single Sign On (SSO) and not a general Zoom account.

Why are Zoom sessions recorded?

By signing up for an appointment with the CLC, you are consenting to the session being recorded for monitoring and record-keeping purposes. We’re able to give our tutors feedback this way - and help them improve their sessions - when we can’t observe in real time. Recordings of sessions can only be shared with participants of that session. Due to privacy/FERPA policy, we do not publicly or widely share recorded sessionsAgain, this means a recording is only shared/accessible to participants from the session.

What if I didn’t record, and I want a copy?

If you were signed up for a session and want a cloud recording link, please request it from clc@csumb.edu with the course, session day, time, and name of your tutor/leader.

If I find a time that works for my schedule and a tutor I like working with, can I make a semester-long appointment?

Yes! Please email clc@csumb.edu with the request (time, day, class, tutor if known).

What materials should I bring or prepare?

We can help you get organized, don’t worry! Make sure you have the course page so you can access the syllabus and assignments. Please also bring or have open digital textbooks or notes from class. Come ready to work and focus, with questions!
