Assessment Resources

Supporting assessment and continuous improvement with academic program review data support and with institutional surveys, offering data, reporting tools and consultation to inform program evaluation and planning.

Institutional Assessment and Research (IAR) helps departments and academic programs use meaningful data and tools to evaluate the student experience, improve academic quality, and inform evaluation and planning. We support both broad institutional surveys and program-level assessment work with reliable data, clear reporting, and guidance that makes evidence actionable for faculty, staff and administrators.

For Academic Program Review, IAR prepares and delivers customized program data aligned with the Academic Affairs Program Review Manual, offers interpretation support throughout the review cycle, and hosts workshops to help teams understand trends and make data-informed decisions.

Through institutional surveys—such as the CSUMB Experience Survey, National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE), and Faculty Survey of Student Engagement (FSSE)—IAR gathers insights on student and faculty experiences and outcomes and makes results accessible via reporting tools and dashboards that support assessment and planning.
