Social Sciences and Global Studies

The Department of Social Sciences and Global Studies houses three majors providing an integrative approach to the fields of anthropology, economics, geography, history, international studies, native American studies, political science, religious studies, and sociology.

Global Studies

Global Studies (GS) is an interdisciplinary field of study that helps us make sense of a complex, diverse, dynamic, and interconnected world, and that helps us address the most pressing global issues of our time. The Global Studies program at CSUMB offers a BA and a minor. 

Sociology

Social Sciences 

The Social Sciences (SSCI*) program offers degree concentrations in these areas:

  • Anthropology
  • Geographic Information Systems
  • Native American Studies
  • Political Economy
  • Social History
