Facilities Management provides comprehensive planning, design, construction, maintenance and repair of University facilities and grounds with over 80 campus buildings and structures on Main Campus and 1,727 acres of campus property.

Building 53 Chapman Sciences Summer Electrical Outage 5/28-6/21

Electrical power will be interrupted to Building 53 - Chapman Science Academic Center from 5/28 - 6/1 for transformer replacement. Critical systems, including fire life safety and emergency lighting will remain energized by the building emergency generator. Elevators will not be operable. The building will be locked for the duration, but card access is expected to remain functional if a brief visit is required to check on things or retrieve items from offices. If you cannot access the building and need to during this time period please contact the lockshop. Thank you for your cooperation during summer maintenance of the campus infrastructure.

Managers with employees in Building 53 who will be impacted by the outage are encouraged to offer flexibility to individuals by approving vacation requests or temporary remote work arrangements during the outage period. Temporary flexibility to work remotely will not require a new or updated remote work agreement. Questions regarding flexible options should be directed to human resources.

Gas Pipeline Replacement Project - East Campus

Pacific Gas and Electric will replace natural gas pipelines in East Campus starting Monday, Oct. 2, and continuing through May 2024 to enhance safety and reliability. To learn more, visit the projects webpage.

Wildfire Prevention Project - East Campus

Starting July 24th, landscape crews and biologists will be carefully reducing the vegetation fuel load around the East Campus Housing Area and surrounding roadways. To learn more, check out the project webpage at CSUMB Emergency Management.

All keys should be picked up and returned to the Lock Shop at building 36 Monday-Friday during the business hours of 7am-4pm.
