About the Dean
Dr. Leslie Williams has served as your Associate Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students since March 2018. Leslie is responsible for oversight of Student Life departments which includes Student Housing and Residential Life; Child Care Center; Care and Basic Needs; Student Conduct; Student Engagement and Leadership Development; First Year Programs; and Recreation. Prior to coming to CSUMB, she had worked in student affairs at the University of Northern Iowa, University of Rhode Island, Georgia State University, and the University of Tennessee.
Leslie has a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from the University of Central Missouri, master’s degree in college student personnel from the University of Tennessee, and a doctorate in educational leadership from Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island.

Leslie enjoys spending time with her family, including her spouse, Dr. Bette Nee-Williams, a retired higher education administrator, and their three therapy dogs who are trained to work with hospice patients, nursing homes, and daycare centers. She also loves all sports and her favorite food group is candy.
