Students who have been charged with conduct violations and are not in agreement with the suggested resolution by the Student Conduct Administrator have the right to appeal the decision and have their case go to a formal administrative hearing. The hearing process allows the student and the Student Conduct Administrator to present the case to a neutral third party, the Hearing Officer. This individual is appointed by the President and is responsible for conducting the hearing and submitting a recommendation to the President. Based on the Hearing Officers report. The President issues a final decision. The President may uphold the Student Conduct Administrator's recommended sanction, adopt a different sanction, or refer the matter for further investigation.
Executive Order 1098 outlines the full procedure for requesting and conducting a hearing. A copy may also be obtained by contacting the Office of Student Conduct.
