MSW Electives

As a School Social Work student, you will have a minimum of FOUR prescribed electives.

Complete three of the following foundation elective courses:

  • SW 564 - Trauma-Informed Practice
  • SW 565 - School Social Work
  • SPED 560 - Inclusionary Practices

Complete one of the following Advanced Practice elective courses:

  • SW 611 - Social Work with Children, Youth, & Families

Complete the following courses if you are pursuing the add-on Child Welfare & Attendance Specialization. This Specialization cannot stand alone.

  • MAE 645 - Educational Policy Advocacy (optional if earning CWA credential)
  • SW 520 - Generalist Practice: Individuals and Families
