Rachel works at the intersection of ocean conservation and art. She is a freelance science illustrator and conservation consultant, whose clients have included The Nature Conservancy and 5 Gyres. Prior to the CSUMB Science Illustration program, she helped start the Gordon & Betty Moore Foundation’s Marine Conservation Initiative. Whatever medium, Rachel’s artwork always aims to set a mood and put the viewer inside the environment--hopefully inspiring them to care more about its lasting health. When she’s not working, you can also find her playing “at the intersection of ocean conservation and art,” surfing the gentler breaks around San Francisco.
