Class of 1996

Biography

After completing the program in 1996, Rick Jones enjoyed a freelance illustration career for ten years, illustrating articles in National Geographic, Scientific American, Neuron, Science and others, as well as text books, display materials for the California Science Center in Los Angeles and many others. The illustration work flowed into more gallery work, and Rick continues to pursue personal and collaborative art projects that involve the intersection of art and science. Rick currently teaches Independent Studies in Science Illustration at Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, NY, a regular stint teaching Science Illustration and Journaling at Sea Education Association in Woods Hole, Massachusetts, and regular fine arts instruction to middle and high school students.
