Jessica Hsiung grew up in Toronto, Canada with interests in both art and science and has been drawing since an early age. After completing the Science Illustration program at CSUMB, she obtained her Masters in Medical Art from the University of Dundee, and now works as both a medical and scientific illustrator, using a variety of traditional and digital media. She has illustrated for a number of scientific publications, as well as an article opener for the Institute of Medicine, in Scientific American magazine. Jessica finds great joy in being able to communicate scientific ideas and concepts through her art, combining her passions for science, art and natural history.
